• Bob & Jeanette were long-time administrators of the St. Luke's Hockey club and were the ones to get Auckland Hockey to allow kids to play games across the field.

    Bob is a Life Member of the club, with his son, Steve, and his wife, Laurene, having run the Junior club for eight years.

  • The Enderby family were heavily involved in the St. Luke's Hockey Club as players and administrators.

  • Mohan started playing with St Luke’s as a junior.

    He continued to represent New Zealand at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where he won a gold medal with another well-known SLAM player, Ramesh Patel, who also started as a junior with St Luke’s.

  • Mahendra, brother of Ramesh Patel, started playing with St. Luke's as a junior.

    He has played and coached at senior representative levels across different regions of New Zealand. He has been a key supporter in growing the SLAM Juniors to where they are today.

    He is still involved as a player and administrator, while Julia has recently moved from playing to coaching after many years in administrative roles. Both are life members of the club.

  • This cup was donated by the Holloway family, who, with their son, Logan, were part of the first team (and only team) that SLAM entered in the Juniors in 2008.

    They were key to helping grow and develop the club to where it is today. Bob Cameron was a relative who helped form the St. Luke's Hockey Club in 1913 after the First World War.

  • John and Jane built a whole satellite of the SLAM Juniors out at Beachlands, growing it from just one or two players to 4 or 5 teams, and were key contributors to the SLAM Juniors' growth to where it is today.

    John coached, was on the committee and also played, while Jane was on the committee and ran summer hockey for juniors for many years.

  • The Robertson family were a key part of St. Luke's Hockey Club when it was one of the strongest clubs in Auckland, as both players and coaches.

  • Allyson and Warwick joined the club in the early days of its rebuilding.

    They contributed in so many ways, as administrators, donors, and by allowing us to leverage Allyson's celebrity chef status for the club's benefit.

    Their two kids continue to play for the club today.

  • Chad and Alison joined of the club in the early days of rebuilding.

    They contributed in both coaching and administrative roles, especially with Alison helping drive up the number of juniors playing and facilitating fundraising activities.

  • The Hayde family has had a long history with the club, from the St. Luke's days, with brothers representing their province and country. Haydes continue to represent New Zealand, but are now mostly based at the Harewood club in Christchurch.

  • Mike and Julia became part of the club in the early days, rebuilding it, and contributed in both coaching and administrative roles.

    Their two kids played for the juniors for several years.

  • The Leaver family were instrumental in the formation of SLAM through the merger of St. Luke's and Albertians Mangere, with Pat supporting her husband, Win Leaver, who played and coached, and her three boys, Derek, Mark and Brett, all of whom played at the top level, with Mark and Brett representing New Zealand.
